Mieli Thun

Nomadic apiculture

It is an extraordinary range of honeys, handcrafted for decades using an ancient technic that has passed over the generations since 1921.

Since 1992, Andrea Paternoster has expanded the catchment area to the whole Italian territory besides its original “Trentino”.

The dream of MieliThun is to capture the unique essence of each variety of flower in a series of single-blossom monofloral honeys.

His capture becomes nomadic: taking his bees with him, he travels from south to north within Italy, following the flowering seasons of dozens of different type of flowers, to produce an average of 20 varieties of single-flower honey.

All without recourse to pasteurization or additives, trapping the pure fragance and flavour of each flower species in its respective honey.

Quintessenza

It is the yield of a single plot of land or a single type of flower.

They are obtained by changing the honeycomb with a virgin one when flowers reach their blossoms’ peak, in order to concentrate the quintessence of each floral variety.
